Would you expect to get serious about something, then be great at it immediately? Absolutely not...you realize doing anything worthwhile (gaining mastery at an art, a movement, a skill) takes time and practice. Nutrition is a skill, or even an art! It's not something you can decide to do and achieve mastery immediately. If you want to eat healthier, just decide to make it a priority, then work to improve on it each day, realizing it's going to take some time. Eventually, you'll be performing at a level you will be very proud of...
Training for less time, but with greater intensity, will improve your ability to perform in endurance events as well as standard CrossFit metcons. Check out CrossFit Endurance.
